When you leave a job in the UAE after at least one year, your employer owes you an end-of-service gratuity. Under the 2022 federal regime (Federal Decree-Law 33/2021) it is worked out from your basic salary and your length of service: 21 days of basic pay for each of your first five years, then 30 days a year beyond that, with the total capped at two years of salary. Enter your basic monthly salary and how long you have worked to see your estimate and a full breakdown.
The old limited and unlimited contract system was abolished in 2022, and with it the penalties that once cut a resigning employee’s payout. Today the same formula applies whether you resign or are let go. This tool reflects the current federal rules only, and uses basic salary alone, since allowances are excluded from the calculation.
