ExpatMemo is an independent editorial resource covering international corporate structuring, tax residency, banking, and employment for entrepreneurs and cross-border professionals. ExpatMemo is reader-supported and does not accept sponsored articles, paid placements, or undisclosed promotional content.
What affiliate links are
Some of the links on ExpatMemo are affiliate links. When you click on an affiliate link and subsequently open an account, sign up for a service, or make a purchase, the provider may pay ExpatMemo a commission, at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate commissions are one of the ways this site sustains itself. They fund the research, writing, and infrastructure behind the site.
How I choose what to recommend
My recommendations are never influenced by the presence or absence of an affiliate relationship.
I recommend providers I would use myself, or suggest to a peer founder or fellow expat in the same situation. Selection is based on my editorial judgment after reviewing the product, the provider's track record, the user experience, the fee structure, and the fit with the reader's situation.
When a product does not warrant a recommendation, I either say so explicitly or omit it from the comparison entirely. I do not publish a positive review of a product I would not use myself, regardless of the commission on offer.
How affiliate links are disclosed
Affiliate links are disclosed in two ways on ExpatMemo:
Each article that contains affiliate links opens with a brief notice, visible above the first link, stating that the article contains affiliate links and linking to this page for details. This aligns with the guidance of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), which both require that affiliate relationships be clearly and conspicuously disclosed close to the promotional content.
Individual links are not marked with a separate label within the body of the text, because the article-level notice and this page already provide the required disclosure.
Current affiliate partners
ExpatMemo participates in affiliate programs with third-party providers across our editorial areas: international banking and multi-currency accounts, incorporation and corporate service providers, employment and payroll platforms, and related financial services.
Affiliate partnerships are updated over time based on editorial fit and provider quality. This page does not include an exhaustive list of current partners, but any affiliate link you encounter on the site is covered by this disclosure.
If you would like to know whether a specific recommendation is backed by an affiliate relationship, write to [email protected] and we will answer directly.
What affiliate revenue does not buy
Providers cannot pay to be featured in our comparisons or guides. They cannot pay to move up a ranking. They cannot pay to remove a negative assessment of their product. They cannot pay to suppress a mention of a competitor. Editorial content on ExpatMemo is not for sale.
ExpatMemo does not publish sponsored articles, sponsored reviews, or paid guest posts.
Independence and corrections
If you believe an article on ExpatMemo overstates a product's merits or understates its weaknesses because of an affiliate relationship, please write to [email protected] with the specific article and your concern. I take these reports seriously. If the concern is valid, I correct the article and publish a visible update note.
My commitment is that a reader who follows a recommendation should end up with the same choice a peer in my position would make. Affiliate revenue funds this work; it does not bend it.
